I'm glad you came!
After 3 significant health scares, I decided to make drastic changes to overcome my anxiety & change my ways of thinking. Read my story
You've held everything together for a long time.
You've carried responsibilites, cared for others and pushed through tired days with sheer determination.
And over time, the strength that helped you keep going began to feel heavy.
This guide was created to help you understand how this happened and what to do about it.
So many of us want more.
More peace in our bodies. More confidence in our voices. More joy in our relationships. More grounding in who God created us to be.
More laughter. More connection. More rest. More life.
And yet, many women quietly carry the belief that wanting more is selfish.
So we silence our desires.
We stay busy. We stay responsible. We keep showing up for everyone else while feeling increasingly disconnected from ourselves.
We tell ourselves:
“This is just life.”
“This is what adulthood feels like.”
“This is what motherhood feels like.”
“This is what marriage feels like.”
“This is what faith feels like.”
But deep down, something inside us keeps whispering:
“There has to be more than this.”
And I believe that whisper matters.
Many women live with anxiety for so long that survival starts to feel normal.
We become experts at coping.
We overthink. We people-please. We procrastinate. We stay busy. We stay helpful. We stay strong.
We keep going.
And because we keep functioning, everyone around us may assume we’re doing fine.
But inside, something very different may be happening.
I remember a woman I worked with who looked like she had everything together.
She showed up.
She took care of things.
She was responsible. Capable. Dependable.
If you looked at her life from the outside, you would think, She’s doing okay.
But inside, she was deeply tired.
Tired of thinking about everything.
Tired of wondering if she had made the right decision.
Tired of replaying conversations in her mind.
Tired of worrying about what other people thought.
Tired of trying to keep everything together.
Just so tired.
And she told herself this was how everyone felt.
At least every woman she knew.
It had almost become a badge of honour.
“How are you?”
“Oh, so very tired.”
And then you both laugh because…
Of course you’re tired.
You’re a woman.
You have a lot to do.
You have people who need you.
You have responsibilities.
That’s just life.
Or so she thought.
She had no idea how to change her busy life.
She didn’t know how to say no without feeling guilty.
She didn’t know how to take time for herself without feeling like someone else needed her more.
And she didn’t realize there were deeper beliefs and longings underneath the way she kept pushing herself forward.
She simply knew:
She couldn’t keep feeling this way.
But she didn’t know what to change.
So she kept searching.
She tried to figure it out.
She tried to think things through.
She tried to make better decisions.
She tried to pray through it.
She tried to tell herself she was fine.
She read.
She listened to podcasts.
She scrolled, looking for clues.
She tried SO MANY THINGS.
And for a little while, something would help.
But then the anxiety came back.
Again.
And again.
Underneath all that exhaustion was a question she couldn’t seem to answer:
“Why am I like this?”
She loved God.
She knew His Word.
She knew she was supposed to trust Him.
She knew Scripture says, “Be anxious for nothing.”
She knew she was supposed to rest in Him.
But knowing what Scripture says and knowing how to live it when your body, mind, and emotions are overwhelmed can feel like two very different things.
She couldn’t understand why things that seemed manageable for other people felt so difficult for her.
Why could she take care of everyone else and yet struggle to know what she needed?
Why could she encourage other people to trust themselves while she questioned almost every decision she made?
And perhaps the hardest part was that she didn’t really know how to explain any of it.
She was carrying a weight other people couldn’t see.
And she was beginning to wonder…
“How long can I keep doing this?”
We looked at her experience from a different perspective.
The anxiety was real.
The exhaustion was real.
The overthinking was real.
But they weren’t the whole story.
There were deeper layers underneath what she was experiencing.
Beliefs.
Emotions.
Longings.
Patterns.
Ways she had learned to see herself and respond to the world.
Things she had carried for so long that they had begun to feel like simply who she was.
And as we began to uncover those layers, she began to understand herself differently.
She could see that her anxiety wasn’t evidence that something was wrong with her.
It was connected to a much bigger story.
And that realization changed the way she saw herself.
Maybe it was the exhaustion.
Maybe it was the constant searching for answers.
Maybe it was the question:
“Why am I like this?”
Or perhaps you recognized something deeper.
That feeling that you are doing everything you know to do…
and still can’t seem to find the peace you’re longing for.
If you recognized yourself, pause here.
Take a breath.
And ask yourself a different question:
“What is happening inside me?”
Because anxiety can reveal something about your:
There is more beneath your anxiety than you realize.
And that is exactly where we need to look.
I invite you to join me for Hidden Layers Beneath Anxiety, where we will look beyond the symptoms of anxiety and begin exploring what may be happening underneath.
Together, we’ll move beyond simply asking:
“How do I stop feeling anxious?”
And begin asking a deeper question:
“What is my anxiety trying to tell me?”
Because there is more beneath your anxiety than you realize.
Perhaps you’ve been waiting for the right time.
The right season.
The right amount of space in your life.
The right moment when everything finally settles down.
But what if this is the opportunity?
You don’t have to wait for life to become perfectly calm before you begin understanding what’s happening within you.
If something in this blog made you pause and think, “This is me,” I want you to pay attention to that.
You were created for more than simply getting through your days.
You were created to experience calm, confidence, and connection—with God, with yourself, and with the people you love.
So if you’ve been waiting for the perfect time, place, or season…
this is your moment to take the next step.
