Mind Makeover: Unleashing Positivity, One Thought at a Time
Reframing My Thoughts
I’ve been on this journey of reshaping my thoughts for quite some time now – emphasis on the “looooong”! 😄 It’s been years of really trying to respond differently to those sensations my body feels due to thoughts I might not even be fully aware of. You know what I mean?
When life throws those curveballs and we go through stuff that leaves a mark, it’s not always easy to pick out the positive thoughts from the bunch. Our brains tend to latch onto the downbeat, scarce, and negative ones like they’re the only show in town. They’ve got a tight grip, no doubt about it!
Switching up the Playlist
Switching up the playlist in our heads takes real effort. It’s all about making a conscious decision to sail a different course. Lately, I’ve found myself in this space of “life’s crossroads,” and some of the choices I’m making send those familiar tummy-fluttering feelings. Trusting in a bigger plan, in God’s plan, is becoming more ingrained in me. But let’s be real, sometimes that little voice in my head wonders, “Are you sure about this?”
So, there I was, taking a stroll, the wind playing tag with my hair – gotta love that wind’s embrace, right? 😊 And a thought struck me – why not tell my mind a new story? I reminded myself of those times when abundance, joy, and positivity flowed effortlessly – when God orchestrated events LONG before I was even aware that I would need His intervention. His attention to detail is awe-inspiring and I knew that I could trust Him and rest in His guidance.
A Fresh Perspective
I asked myself, “What’s up with that pit-in-the-stomach sensation? Is it a fresh response or an old reaction?” Just that simple question worked wonders. My body eased up, my stomach quieted down, and the weight lifted. Turns out, it was an echo from the past, not relevant anymore, and it simply needed me to be intentional about countering it with new thoughts, new choices, and new responses.
So, I had a chat with my mind – “Hey, we’re in a different space now. Is that feeling tied to that old memory? Then I can let it go.” I made up my mind to focus on a different, more uplifting memory – something from the here and now. I decided to tackle those anxious thoughts head-on, replacing them with thoughts that speak of choices, healing, and hope.
Welcoming a New Mindset
And guess what? That’s why today’s walk felt absolutely amazing. I let go of some tension and welcomed in new, healthier vibes. Oh, and let’s not forget the wind’s little contribution to the whole scene! 😊
