Every year, on my birthday, I pray for a verse for the coming year. Last year I asked God to give me a verse that reflected my commitment to the work He had called me to do โ a verse I could hold onto when I was uncertain or confused. I asked for a verse that would decrease my worries and increase my courage.
And after a few days, He gave me Romans 12:2.
“Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will isโHis good, pleasing, and perfect will.”
Not to be conformed to old patterns and beliefs, but to renew my mind by focusing on God.
Focus on God.
Focus on God!
Let go of words that no longer support me.ย What would God want me to say to myself?
How do I change my thoughts?
Throughout the year, God showed me several areas where I needed to adjust my thinking. Things that have been said over or to me MANY years ago that I had taken on as truth and repeated to myself so they became ingrained. Things that He wanted to change in me so that His truth could shine into those places.
So I practiced. And I got better at speaking my truth.
How about you?
Are there things that you have been saying to yourself that no longer serve you?
Would you like to Transform YOUR Mind by letting go of thoughts that no longer serve you?
