When I first began to intentionally deal with my anxiety, I did what many women do—I started with my body.
Medication had never worked well for me, so I went the organic route: I walked. I moved. I breathed deeply, soothing my amygdala—the emotional center of my brain.
And it helped. My thoughts grew clearer as oxygen flowed, endorphins gave me a lift, and for a little while, I felt lighter.
But the truth? That feeling wore off. Sometimes I ended up more tired than before. Walking was a great start, but it wasn’t the whole answer.

Trusting His Word when my own thoughts spun out of control.
Listening for His whispers when fear pressed in.
Leaning into His deep, abiding love when self-doubt grew louder than truth.
That’s when real change began. My body still needed movement. My mind still needed renewal. But now, those tools lasted. Because they were anchored in His presence, not my own willpower.
