She sat with her Bible open, desperate to find comfort in the words—yet her heart felt shattered into a thousand pieces. She wanted to trust God, wanted to say, “It’s okay, Lord, I accept this.”
But she couldn’t.
The ache was too deep. The questions too loud. The silence too heavy.
Maybe you’ve been there too—facing a loss or heartbreak that leaves you gasping for air. You want to be okay with God’s plan, but the truth is, you’re not.
And here’s what I want you to know: that’s exactly where intimacy with God begins.
The Tension of Grief and Faith
We often believe that being a “good Christian woman” means being okay with whatever happens in life. We tell ourselves we should just accept it, smile, and keep moving.
But that’s not what God asks of us.
He doesn’t ask us to bury our grief. He doesn’t demand that we pretend. What He wants is intimacy—our honesty, our tears, our doubts, and even our anger.
Psalm 73:26 My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.
Meeting with God – building a foundation of strength
We build our foundation in the quiet—sitting in the chair with our Bible open, praying through the pain, or even just letting the tears fall in His presence. That’s where our roots sink deep.
And then life throws us into the valley.
The valley where dreams die. The valley where prayers seem unanswered. The valley where tears flood the night.
It’s in the valley that we reach for His hand. Sometimes weakly. Sometimes with anger. Sometimes with doubt. But still—we hold on.
Remembering Who Walks Beside Us
Step by step, we begin to remember:
We have walked through valleys before.
We have climbed mountains before.
We have survived nights we thought would destroy us.
And the courage to rise again never came from ourselves. It came from the One who walked beside us—the Shepherd whose presence has always been our anchor.
My Story Too
I know this because I have walked this path too. I am walking it even now.
And my certainty is this: God continues to guide our steps, just as He promised. So I will hold on. I will lift my eyes to heaven, from whence my help comes (Psalm 121:1).
And I will remember that woman on the mountain—armored in His strength, holding her sword, standing beside me.

You Don’t Have to Walk Alone
Maybe you are still in the valley, and you’re longing for the mountaintop. I want you to know: you don’t have to walk this path alone.
In my program, Journey to Joy, I walk with women just like you—through the pain, through the questions, through the doubt—into the intimacy, confidence, and peace that God has waiting.
