Transformation, Intentional, and Nurturing all support sustainable change.
You might ask yourselves the following questions:
Are the changes you are asking yourself to make respectful, caring, and focused on growth?
Do they make your heart happy?
Do you look forward to making these changes because you KNOW that it will benefit you?
Do you try to find ways to make the changes palatable and connected with your values?
If your answers are “no”, then please find another way to make changes. Be kind to yourself and you will be much more likely to stick with the plan.
What does it mean to nurture yourself while you focus on sustainable change?
Engage in activities that promote self-care, compassion, kindness, joy, authenticity, and vulnerability.
Self-care – engage your senses
Compassion – forgive your mistakes
Kindness – speak kindly to yourself as you learn new skills, make mistakes, trip, fall, and get up again.
Joy – find activities that bring you joy.
Do you like children? Visit loved ones that have little children, read them a book, or work on a puzzle.
Do you enjoy gardening? Hiking? Go outside and make time for those activities.
Do you enjoy walking? Go outside and do some of that 🙂
Authenticity – be authentic. If you feel emotions, allow them to be without judgment. Speak your truth with kindness. Say no to activities you do not enjoy.
Be vulnerable. Allow yourself to feel. Allow yourself to not know the answers to everything. After all, you are learning new skills. Share your journey with others.
Find what works for you…
If there are things on this list that do not work for you, find other things that will nurture your soul as you work on making sustainable change.
