Yesterday morning, while doing devotions, I noticed a message on my phone, “Pick up. I am trying to call you 😊”. It was my niece Tsion who wanted to chat from England via WhatsApp.
Is anyone else amazed that she can command me from across the world? Because I certainly am 😊
It is tiny moments like these that make me smile at God’s providence. Tsion and I have been calling each other for the past week but were unable to connect. I never have my phone near me when doing devotions, but I was looking up a word when her message popped up. And so, we connected.
Conversations about Growth
We had an amazing conversation. She is currently in her 7th year of working with YWAM and God has recently been tugging at her heartstrings – bringing her attention to other Ethiopian orphans in need.
MANY years ago, Tsion entered our family with big hair, a precious giggle, and a heart ready to be loved. When she came, I fell in love with her IMMEDIATELY!! Those big dark eyes, the way she would tuck her chin in when she received a compliment, the ways in which she adjusted and adjusted and adjusted to her new homeland, and her willingness to grow into the independent, loving, caring woman she is today. I still love her fiercely.
She is an amazing woman of God. She loves Him, follows Him, and traveled across the ocean to do work He had called her to. And now He has put another call on her heart. And she is responding.
Overcoming, Learning, Growing.
My darling niece has also struggled with anxiety. She has lived through abandonment, rejection, uncertainty, loss, struggles, and OVERCOMING!! She is funny, caring, wonderful, intelligent, and talented. She can be dramatic and often makes me laugh. She is good with boundaries, practices assertiveness, and has a heart for those less fortunate.
She has grown.
She has triumphed.
She has Overcome 😊
You can find her at “Tsion’s Life in Mission” on Facebook. I hope you look her up and get to know her and her story. She will be delighted to meet you 😊
