As I look back on the year 2021, I remember new and challenging experiences. In BC, we had unusual heat and fires, floods and slides, the continued uncertainty of the changing pandemic, and the divisions around vaccinations.
And we also had people reaching out, helping, volunteering, and opening their homes to overflowing to help those less fortunate. There were stories of people sharing their food, opening their freezers, praying for safety, offering rides, and providing clothing, blankets, and other necessities. People stepped out of their comfort zones with compassion and practical solutions and did what they could to help.
As I look back on this year, I see people willing to make life easier for others – the encouragers, helpers, and prayer warriors. And I am grateful for them – for the hope they bring and the tears they dry.
